Bharti Verma is one of the most prominent female personalities of Chhattisgarh. Especially in the field of social reforms, she has been a part of many teams and panels that work on social reforms, especially on women's empowerment. Her work challenges casteism, communalism, and all forms of discrimination. She has been a part of teams that fight for the rights of slum dwellers and tribal communities.
Bharti Verma also worked with a voluntary organization in Bastar, working hand in hand for more than 20 years towards the upliftment of the tribal community. The struggle is still on in the Bastar regions of Chhattisgarh. She is involved in a lot of green movements which lead to the planting of thousands of seedlings all over Chhattisgarh to date. She has been a part of many movements which focus on child abuse and women empowerment.
She started the Jivesh Foundation to create awareness around gender equality and promoting — for the past 6 years — the importance of using sanitary napkins and busting the stigma around it. This foundation also helps women facing domestic violence by giving them social, economic, and legal support.
She has been working in the media field for the past 6 years now. Through this, she is able to create awareness of women's empowerment. Apart from it, under the banner name of Golden Dreams Production (GDP), she has produced Chhattisgarhi, Hindi, and French movies of international standards.
She is a self-made singer who created albums in Chhattisgarhi and Hindi languages. She loves photography — especially wildlife and landscapes. With her production house, she tries to uplift local talents in the film industry.
